Fishing Derby

Everyone wins with a Free Fishing Derby for kids 13 and under. Bring the whole family to cheer and enjoy a beautiful morning on the lake with raffle prizes, BBQ and live music following the event. No barb, no bait. Registration starts at 8am and the derby begins at 9am.

Fishing gear is not supplied so come prepared with your own tackle and fishing gear.

Winding through lodgepole pines, around sage meadows and across a nine-acre lake, this par-72 golf course features slight elevation changes and many bunkers. Designed by Robert Trent Jones, Jr., Keystone Ranch Golf Course follows the legendary links-style of a Scottish course on the front nine, while the back nine presents a traditional mountain valley layout. race series will test your limits. The Ascent Series puts you to the test as you climb from
the base to the Summit of Dercum Mountain. The Enduro, hailed the “true biking
challenge” leaves the path to the finish line in your hands – in combination of
experience and skill will go along way in this new style of racing. To fuel your mountain
biking, grab a free donut and hot chocolate before you hit the trail from Gondola Plaza.
And bring the kids! They can participate in our free Keystone Strider Cup Kids Race or
test their skills in our newly added Pump Park! Don’t forget our daily Lift and Lunch
packages plus the amazing BMX stunt show on Sunday! As always there is something for

THE ROUTE: Walking from Keystone Resort to Frisco and on to Breckenridge
The walk route from Keystone Resort to Frisco and Breckenridge will consist mostly of sidewalks and recreational bike paths. The trail will still be open to the public and you will see many people out enjoying all that Summit County has to offer. As the sun rises on Saturday of your walk weekend, the beauty of the Rocky Mountains will serve as the incredible backdrop during our Opening Ceremony at the Keystone Resort.

Sunday's route will begin at Summit County Middle School and will take you along the Blue River and past historic mining sites! You’ll complete your day’s mileage at the beautiful mountain town of Breckenridge and Main Street for our Closing Ceremony.

Friends and family are more than welcome to park for Opening and Closing Ceremonies, but will not be able to leave cars overnight due to limited parking in the area. Participants who need overnight parking are encouraged to park at the Pika Lot in Keystone and walk to Opening Ceremony site on Saturday morning.
Complimentary shuttles to the Marmot Lot will run from the River Run Condominiums and the Inn at Keystone, between 4:30am – 5:45am Saturday morning. Buses returning to Keystone Resort on Sunday will depart immediately after the conclusion of the Closing Ceremony and will stop at River Run, the Inn and the Pika Lot.

Steve Mudflap McGrew: comedian Steve McGrew’s takes on the lighter side of life. Born in Tulsa, OK, but raised near the Houston area, McGrew began his career at the beginning of the 80’s, working as an editorial cartoonist for the Houston Chronicle during the day and performing standup at night, early on, he shared stages with comedians like Bill Hicks and Sam Kinison at Houston’s Comedy Workshop Club. After about five years, McGrew decided to concentrate on comedy full – time and quickly became a popular attraction around the South. From there he went on to appear on virtually every cable show devoted to standup comedy, including An Evening at the Improv, Caroline’s Comedy Hour, Showtime’s Full Frontal Comedy, and Comedy on the Road, among others. He also showed up on MTV, VH1, and TNN, as a finalist on Star Search, and on the Bob and Tom morning radio show.
Additionally, McGrew opened concerts for several rock and country artists, including Dolly Parton, Tanya Tucker, Wynonna Judd, Jerry Lee Lewis, the Doobie Brothers, and The Beach Boys. As he grew more ambitious, McGrew put together a series of one-man shows – including a stage piece based on his experiences as a divorced father – that allowed him to explore different comic territory. McGrew made a string of recordings available on the Laughing Hyena label, and then switched to Uproar for his most widely distributed album to date, 1999’s Too Much Man for Just One Woman and Other Lies. He can also be heard on 92.5 The Wolf Radio Station’s morning show in Denver, Colorado.
